Another Wack TV Preacher

So, I was doing some investigating into Casey Treat's church in Washington St, and I came across this on his website:
If Jesus is real in your life then you must also recognize the reality of your enemy. If it took the death of Christ to defeat him, it's going to take some dedication from you to complete that defeat and keep the devil from controlling your life. Jesus has stripped him of authority, but just like any common criminal, he'll do whatever you let him get away with. He cannot take your salvation but he can make you a non-effective Christian. The devil doesn't really care if you're saved or not as long as you don't go spreading salvation around. He wants to defeat you in any way he can.

As most of you know, I hold to a Preterist view of eschatology, which results in me not putting much stock in the person of Satan. Putting that aside though, there are a number of things I find wrong with Treat's view. What do you think of this statement?
